NATIONAL AWARDS PROGRAM
GENERAL INFORMATION
The Marine Corps Veterans Association has an established an awards program to recognize its regular members for noteworthy performance-to-duty and for service to its organizational mission. The program utilizes military-style ribbons and appurtenances similar to that used by the naval service. These awards may be worn on the ceremonial uniform in lieu of official military awards that the wearer may be authorized, however these awards may never be worn co-mingled with official military awards.
PURPOSE
The purpose of the Marine Corps Veterans Association Awards Program is to recognize its members for superior performance, noteworthy acts and deeds, and to reward faithful service as a member of the Marine Corps Veterans Association.
AWARD DETAILS
The following awards, displayed in order of precedence, are authorized to be awarded to regular members. Specific information and authorized appurtenances for each award are detailed as follows:
National Marine of the Year
Description: Awarded annually by the national commander to a regular member whose leadership and performance has provided a noteworthy contribution to the Marine Corps Veterans Association, and whose personal conduct has reflected favorably on and has brought great credit to the Marine Corps Veterans Association and the United States Marine Corps.
Period of Consideration: To be announced.
Appurtenances: Fleet Marine Force devices.

State Marine of the Year
Description: Awarded annually by the state commander to a regular member whose leadership and performance has provided a noteworthy contribution to the Marine Corps Veterans Association, and whose personal conduct has reflected favorably on and has brought great credit to the Marine Corps Veterans Association and the United States Marine Corps.

Platoon Marine of the Year
Description: Awarded annually by the platoon commander to a regular member whose leadership and performance has provided a noteworthy contribution to the Marine Corps Veterans Association, and whose personal conduct has reflected favorably on and has brought great credit to the Marine Corps Veterans Association and the United States Marine Corps.

Description: Awarded annually by the national commander to a regular member whose leadership and performance has resulted in the greatest number of new memberships into the Marine Corps Veterans Association.

Description: Awarded annually by the state commander to a regular member whose leadership and performance has resulted in the greatest number of new memberships into the state-level of the Marine Corps Veterans Association.

Platoon Recruiter of the Year
Description: Awarded annually by the national commander to a regular member whose leadership and performance has resulted in the greatest number of new memberships into the Outer Banks Platoon of the Marine Corps Veterans Association.

Honor Guard
Description: Awarded to regular members who serve on an honor guard detail of the Marine Corps Veterans Association.
